“One Artist” is studio artist Nancy Calcutt. Since 2003, my husband and I have lived in an emerging artists’ community, the LowerTown Arts District, in Paducah, Kentucky. I own and operate Nancy Calcutt Studio, which is my working studio and showcase gallery. My studio/gallery is open to the public Wednesday through Saturdays 12-5. I am an oil painter and pastel artist whose figurative subject matter often merges realism and magic realism.
“One Artist’s Life” is my first blog, so I am learning as I go. It was launched in late 2007, but early in January 2008, I decided to relaunch “One Artist’s Life” as a painting blog. That means that it is now a visual journal that records my output of art on a weekly basis, at the rate of several postings per week. (Update–3/28/08: I am posting at the rate of about once a week. Some paintings take longer to do. I don’t want to rush these things!)
