Well, I am sorry that I have not posted in over a week. I have been extremely busy getting all of the art prepared and hanging my new exhibit, “Two by Two” which opened this past Saturday April 12, 2008. It was Second Saturday in the LowerTown Arts District. Check out the photos of my opening at Nancy Calcutt Studio that are attached to this post. You can click on any image to view a larger picture. There was so much going on that our little district was buzzing. I was lucky enough to have my husband, Charlie, gallery sit so that I could go and check out all of the other openings. My good friend and neighbor, Paulette Mentor, who owns Mentor House Gallery had a solo exhibit of her own work which was fabulous and the food and wine was fantastic, I might add–thank you Paulette; this lady sure knows how to throw a party!

My other friend and neighbor Carol Gabany, owner of the Egg & I Gallery had a new exhibit featuring the art of Stefanie Graves and David Lucht. There was also a new landscape exhibit at Leaping Trout Studio featuring artwork by Keyth Kahrs, Wil MacKay & Bill Renzulli.

A.I.R. Studio had a real happening-like the 1960’s all over again. A.I.R. had a number of art forms on display: a slide/animation presentation by Randy Simmons set to Beatles tune “Eleanor Rigby”, an art exhibit by Simmons and Teri Moore dealing with domestic violence and a two part performance piece with spoken word performance and an interactive component that occurred outside. I got involved with the interactive part–couldn’t help myself. Anyway- the LowerTown Arts District Second Saturday, April 12, 2008 was something special!
